Mandy Zhang Art Participates in Singapore ART SG to Present Jin Han's Solo Project
"Dome Echoes" presents Jin Han's latest series, specially created for ART SG, featuring oil paintings and woodcuts centered around the core concept of "Ether." This concept originates from Aristotle's classical "Five Element Theory," where "Ether" is regarded as the fifth element alongside water, fire, air, and earth.
Jin Han drew inspiration from diverse interpretations and explorations of the term "aether," encompassing cosmology, metaphysics, spatial cognition, and modern science. These varied theories of "aether" share a common thread: it is an immaterial entity serving as the foundation for intangible phenomena ranging from particles to human consciousness. From this perspective, the artist embarked on his artistic inquiry, seeking to unveil the multifaceted forms, origins, and destinies of "aether," as well as its relationship with the vast cosmos.
This series of works marks Jin Han's continued exploration of cosmic themes through a profound personal perspective, delving into the diverse dimensions of the microcosm and macrocosm. His pieces showcase organic forms intruding into the composition, saturating and revealing textures. Flowing pigments seep into every corner of the canvas, blending disparate themes into a cohesive whole. The artist skillfully merges the macro and micro, the figurative and abstract, the positive and negative spaces, embodying his distinctive dualistic creative approach. By combining rationality with sensibility and utilizing visual imagery generated by precision scientific tools such as microscopes, telescopes, and meteorological satellites, he creates vibrant nebulae images that provoke contemplation on the poetic potential of science.
