MICROCOSM: Intimacies Beyond Distance

The Singapore Space of Contemporary Tangren Art Center is pleased to announce the group exhibition "MICROCOSM: Intimacies Beyond Distance," featuring a diverse selection of representative works by over 40 prominent domestic and international artists. Art is often regarded as an object to be viewed from a distance. From the grand halls of Renaissance palaces to the minimalist white-box spaces of modern galleries, the history of exhibition spaces consistently emphasizes the viewer's ability to grasp the overall composition at a glance. This distant perspective upholds proportion, symmetry, and the unity of form, shaping art as an image that can be instantly comprehended. However, this exhibition proposes an alternative mode of viewing—beginning with closeness rather than distance, inviting the audience to take a step forward, linger within arm's reach, and allow the hidden world to unfold gradually, as if whispered at their ear.

This exhibition features 43 artists from around the world, including internationally renowned masters, outstanding local artists from Singapore, and emerging talents from various countries.
